Our trip connects you—Jewish Wildcats—to your personal Jewish journey and identity, to Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people, and, upon return, to your local Jewish community. You’ll be led through Israel by tour experts and your own Hillel staff, and will experience diverse history and culture through unforgettable tours, hikes, and unique activities.
Questions? Please email our Israel Fellow (Israel Fellows typically don’t respond over the summer, when they are traveling with students and taking a sabbatical month.)
We are taking a Perspectives Trip to Israel March 7th-16th, 2025 for Wildcat student leaders of all faiths and backgrounds.
Fill out our interest form HERE!
Perspectives is an educational trip to Israel and the Palestinian territories offered exclusively to sophomore and junior undergraduate student leaders at the University of Arizona who are interested in deepening their knowledge about one of the world's most discussed regions. Unlike Birthright trips, the Perspectives trip is not intended for Jewish students exclusively, and in fact all religions (and none) are welcome: the trip is in no way religious. Selected participants will meet with intellectuals, grass-roots activists, and politicians from Israel and the Palestinian Authority and will take part in dialogues of co-existence. Trip participants will visit cities and holy sites to all three major Abrahamic religions and will receive a unique opportunity to learn about the history of one of the world's most debated conflicts by interacting with experts and decision makers. Participants will also have the opportunity to float in the Dead Sea, eat incredible food, visit marketplaces and bazaars, swim in the Mediterranean, experience Tel Aviv club life with peers, go off-road on a Jeep tour, stay at a kibbutz, immerse in the cultures of the region, and much, much more.
THE TRIP IS NEARLY FREE! WHAT'S INCLUDED:
Airfare to/from Israel from San Francisco, at least two meals per day, full-time guided tour of Israel including luxury bus and tour guides, accommodations in 4-5 star hotels and authentic Israeli Kibbutzim (communal farms), plus travel medical insurance is fully-underwritten. Participants are asked to cover airfare/transportation to and from the San Francisco airport (SFO), about one meal per day, and spending money for snacks, souvenirs, etc. Additionally, there is a $125 deposit that is fully refundable after the trip.
Upon submitting an application, a Hillel staff member will be in contact with you. If you're offered a spot and accept but find you are not able to attend the trip you will be eligible for a deposit refund ONLY if UArizona Hillel is notified before you are ticketed on the airline.
In order to apply you must:
- Have at least one year left studying at UArizona Hillel upon conclusion of the trip (sophomores and juniors preferred)
- Be a student leader on campus (see more info, below)
- Follow us on Instagram @hillelarizona
- Fill out the application completely and then email us your resume.
What does "student leader" mean? We are looking to build a truly diverse cohort of leaders from across campus life. We are looking from folks ASUA/student government; board members and other leaders from campus cultural clubs/affinity groups/organizations; leaders from Greek life (including Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council, United Sorority and Fraternity Council, chapter boards, and more); leaders of University religious organizations (although no religious background is needed for or factors into the trip), and more. In other words, we are looking for changemakers. We hope that our cohort will be full of folks from a variety of cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds that represents the multiplicity of life in Tucson and on campus, and invite applications from people across the rich gender spectrum.
